21 July 2013 - Have I told you about the time I scaled Gros Morne?  No?  Well, another time perhaps.  I am a well traveled cat, having been in thirteen United states and several Canadian provinces.  Quite honestly I am a home body, preferring to spend my days in contemplation of the big questions.  But there are a few destinations on my bucket list, my maybe-someday compilation...such as mysterious Katmandu.  I love the very sound of it.

20 July 2013 -  When I was a small kit, I ran away from the circus.  After several stressful weeks of trying to make a go of it alone, I happened upon my peeps and at a time when their lives were without a center.  Like a three-legged stool, they are now much more balanced and functional.  I could have, as in the parable, passed by on the other side, but I saw a need and felt compassion.

19 July 2013 - Here I am picnicking in the countryside...well, not really, as it did not involve a basket of food or a spread tablecloth.  The truth is that I am watching other things, mostly beeps, picnic on the sunflower seeds that have fallen to the ground.  Observing nature, surrounded by green, doesn't that distinguish me as an eco-cat?

18 July 2013 - The breakfast of champions for me is yogurt, an exact ratio of plain to vanilla.  One of my peeps doesn't start his day well nourished, but what can I say:  he is untrainable.  Unlike the young generation who comes to the table with backward hats and ear buds, I take my place well-groomed and well-mannered.  I am trying to teach by example.

17 July 2013 - Whatever I'm sitting on, its roundness marks it as artificial.  Perhaps like the Nazca Lines, this lidded cylinder pushed into the earth is prehistoric...or a cultural artifact from an alien race.  Just sitting on its dome inspires my imagination.  Meanwhile, in a very calculated move, my stomach has requested pie for dinner.  Pardon me while I go in search of four and twenty blackbirds....

16 July 2013 - Breathe in that great outdoors!  Sharp sunlight is indicative of low humidity, which if one could bottle would be a great seller back in muggy Florida this time of year.  I am finally able to stop sleeping on my feet, and can stretch out with abandon.  I am not unappreciative.

15 July 2013 - The kitchen - the social heart of the household - is one of my favorite places to hang out.  From my perch I can supervise the cooking, enjoy the residual heat, and unobtrusively observe my peeps.  So far they have not utilized the two mice that if kindly offered.
