mahogany maze

Me-ow-my-oh

Me-usings and Me-emories

7 September 2013 -  A room, viewed from a different vantage point, can look very unfamiliar.  With all its dark wood and jutting verticals, this area is one of my favorites for hiding, to observe but not be observed...a modernist take on the jungle, without leaving the comforts of home.

Me-usings and Me-emories

6 September 2013 -  We cats are notorious home-bodies.  Only under full hormonal throttle might we moodily roam the neighborhood.  So I consider myself, by this measure, very worldly.  Those of you who know me recall that these excursions into the beyond are never my idea, and I honestly can't say that I enjoy travelling.  Even so, upon arrival, I adapt quickly:  any place I hang my rat is home.

eye to eye

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

5 September 2013 -  I feel certain that I invented the head butt, but if not its originator, its perfector.  For the uninitiated, it is akin to a nose rub, but more sanitary.  Bowing the head has long been a sign of respect to the intended, and I am pleased to note that at our house the gesture is mutual.  Body language speaks volumes, and there can be unexpected bonuses... such as satisfying the curiosity as to what's in that yellow cup.

call of the wild

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

4 September 2013 - Were it not for the white throat and feet, I could pass as a panther in the jungle.  Don't confuse me with a Florida panther, as they are really cougars (and the wrong color).  I don't venture into the wild very far, as there are bobcats and red foxes in these woods, but sometimes I feel the need to sniff nature and chew on some grass.

which way to Notre Dame?

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

3 September 2013 -  I believe that I detect some resemblance?  The thing with wings is my buddy, the strong and silent type of companion.  But there is absolutely no way those wings will bear it aloft...I know because I've given it a nudge, and it's heavy as a rock.  When I first encountered it, I tried to talk it off the ledge, but evidently the spot suits.  And I try to overlook its pinkness...better it than me.

Scooby doo, where are you?

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

2 September 2013 - Don't fault me for being an early riser.  It's in my genes.  Dawn is a beautiful time of the day, blessedly quiet and virtually empty of human activity, at least around my house.  I can make my rounds, check the yard for evidence of nocturnal visitors, eat a few kibbles, and return to bed before my peeps stir.  However every now and then my padding around is noticed by the female of the pair, and I am the recipient of her "what are you doing?" stare...to which I ingenuously reply "ruh roh".

Me-usings and Me-emories

1 September 2013 -  Begging doesn't become me, so maintaining my dignity while dependent upon lessers is a concern.  I cannot detect resentment from my peeps; in truth they seem very happy to supply my needs....happy almost to the point of drooling.  Have I allied myself with a pair of soft heads?
