22 February 2019 - You don't have to be a cat expert (or even like us) to read my face:  contentment, with perhaps room for a bit more.  Picky (I prefer "discerning") eaters are actually the easiest to feed... simply give us what we enjoy, and we will make it disappear.  The "issue" enters when change or variety is deemed necessary.  I understand the concern for providing a balanced nutrition to kits, but looks aside, I am well beyond "juvenile".  Perhaps I have finally convinced the shorter peep the efficacy of serving me yogurt, because I really do enjoy the same old, same old.

21 February 2019 - "... and I approve of this message."  My peeps and I are quite close, but I'm not sure I should sanction their efforts on my behalf without first perusing.  There is ample evidence of the corrupting nature of power, and I would hate to be the cause of their downfall.  Besides I have the natural talent to be an overseer, thorough without being obstructive.  By investing some time, I can ensure that content and objective reflect my personal viewpoint, and meanwhile deepen my peep connections.  It seems worth the bother.

20 February 2019 - We cats hold ourselves largely outside the flow of time... it is a peep construct after all.  That isn't to say that we don't age, don't expend our nine lives.  But we give little thought to saving for tomorrow, or reminiscing over yesterday.  The closest we come to living outside the present is when we return to a past grievance or slight for feline retribution... which could be anything from a snub to a slash.  But revenge requires a great deal of energy, a resource we cats don't like to waste... so mostly we just impersonate lumps.

19 February 2019 - Beware of a bored cat and a peep with time on her hands!  I can see little aesthetic value to the latest picture, and I am left to conclude, "give her an inch, and she'll take a foot."  Upon such close inspection one might not guess that I walk for my living, throughout our house and around the premises, in sand, in mud, in wet grass.  Careful foot care is required to keep my paws in service:  daily grooming (how else to keep white fur white?) and nail inspection.  Although there is plentiful evidence of my sedentary life, I will never consent to be wheeled around in a frilly pram.

18 February 2019 - If you are having difficulty processing the contents of this picture, let me help:  I am lying on a pair of black flip-flops.  Now it is your turn:  why?  I don't always know the underlying cause of my actions, but in this particular case I do.  How well I can attest that black absorbs heat, and these shoes had been sitting in afternoon sun for quite a while when I discovered them.  It was probably my keen nose that detected the smell of heated rubber, but it was my curiosity that led me to this welcoming spot.

17 February 2019 - If you have watched a Hollywood western, you are aware that guarding the pass is an effective strategy.  Forcing the interlopers to traverse a narrow opening means that the good guys can focus on a small area... efficient use of resources and an effective bushwhack.  I also like the give-and-take of passwords to control entry:  "Halt, if you know what's good for you."  I often meet my peeps here, as they return from who-knows-where.  They offer their hands, and my nose teases out what they ate in the restaurant and if they fraternized with others of my kind.

16 February 2019 - When she wants to, Bastet can deliver:  thank you so much for our recent gorgeous weather.  I have been spending more afternoon time outside, absorbing the southern exposure.  It is also our leaf-falling season:  sometimes my internal sensor awakens me, alerting me to a rain shower... but it turns out to be a downpour of leaves, striking the roof and littering the walkway.  Were I to nap overly long (purely a hypothetical construct) on the back porch, I would be blanketed.  But I take the inconvenience in stride:  it is just one more indication that spring is arriving.
