7 Apr 2025 - Can you tell that I've just been brushed?  Perhaps that is why my wall shadow appears to be emanating.  I can't believe that in my younger days I would run away from the comb... maybe I'm wising up with age.  The more fur so collected is the less fur adhering to my tongue (and down my gullet:  hack-hack).  I expect this morning routine, delightful as it is, to culminate with a body rub... imagine the shorter peep trying to shape my torso into a ball.  It feels so good my purr box unconsciously cuts in.

6 Apr 2025 - All is clear on our eastern front... but that could change with one look-away.  It probably is a stretched fact that my looking at something impacts that something.  The emotion behind the eye contact could range from affection (I like my two peeps) to anger ("back off, you ne'er-do-well"), with numerous points in between (e.g., frustration over a closed door).  There have been instances of positive feedback, such as a head pat or opened portal, that keep me thinking that I do have influence.

5 Apr 2025 - Sometimes wishes are granted, and after days without surveillance, the office balcony has finally been checked out.  I was very pleased to determine that the gap in coverage had not been taken advantage of by those smarter-than-you-think interlopers.  Sitting in this interior green space made me miss even more my formerly-screened personal porch.  But I have a job to do, so I'll set my feelings aside and keep the accessible part of our domicile safe.

4 Apr 2025 - Paused in my upstairs route, I am waiting for the sound of a trailing peep.  Sometimes my request results in an opened door, sometimes not.  In either case the interloper hunt continues... maybe not as thorough as I would like but I'm not the sort to make a fuss about compromise.  From my own limited set of experiences I have learned that adaptation is critical in making one's way through life.  We who prefer all Ts crossed find this state of affairs very aggravating, but our complaints are less than blips on the universe's grand backdrop.

3 Apr 2025 - I can only take partial credit for my glossy coat.  Regular maintenance certainly helps, but a healthy diet (and decent genes) are big factors as well.  Although I frequently (and fondly) mention tasty treats, I have a solid base of good-quality proteins and fats, the same needs as my wild cousins... although they have to work much harder than I for their daily fare.  I view my job of keeping the domicile secure as recompense for my room and board... a very beneficial arrangement for both sides I think we three would agree.

2 Apr 2025 - Needless to say, my patrol takes me places unfrequented by my peeps.  My small size means that I can easily manage spaces too narrow, too shallow for them.  But these areas are spacious by interloper standards, so I must check them out.  Sometimes I emerge from these tight quarters with lint on my paws or cobwebs on my head, hazards of my calling that will be dealt with next bath.  It wouldn't be a stretch to add housekeeper to my résumé.

1 Apr 2025 - No kidding, I have walked many steps between being atop the chair yesterday and next to it today.  This room is the designated spot for meals, both peep and mine, so the shorter one and I always start the day here.  After that the program varies.  Half the time we two then hike up to the office and clock in... and your receipt of my latest thoughts means that we both have been at the desk.  But to underscore yesterday's theme, the guard cat in me can't afford to be predictable... so I'll just keep to myself what happens next.
