breathtaking

17 Apr 2025 - My job is never boring, mostly because it varies from day to day.  I don't always feel the need to check out this particular office corner, but I shudder to imagine either of my peeps walking this ledge... and so I do.  Other than a bit of dust (found even in the most meticulous abodes I would wager) I didn't stir up a hiding interloper, despite there being numerous first-rate spots to hunker.  Perhaps leeps and such don't like the color blue, whereas black and blue are a striking combination, without being garish (which definitely isn't me).

lap of luxury

Me-usings and Me-emories

16 Apr 2025 - I still appreciate lap time, even though Mr. Sol is finally approaching his full-strength.  Whereas before I wouldn't leave until evicted, now I am sufficiently warm to rise of my own accord and continue on with work.  I make it a point to remain sufficiently long to underscore my appreciation of the one-on-one time... because, despite my beseeching Bastet to not let summer end, it has for each of my five experiences.  So the back of my head knows that sooner than I would like, I will truly be needing the peep's heat.

Me-usings and Me-emories

15 Apr 2025 - This front-and-center stuffed meep is certainly not my emotional support animal... just my pal that sometimes goes on strolls with me.  Being the only cat in our domicile (thank you, Bastet), I look elsewhere for companionship.  Although there are a number of these "toys" to choose from, this one is paws-down my favorite.  What is unusual about this particular outing is that it stuck with me all the way to the office... maybe it was bring-a-friend-to-work day?

a productive morning

Me-usings and Me-emories

14 Apr 2025 - Perhaps the shorter peep actually reads what she types, as the office portal is now frequently open for a more thorough interloper inspection.  Of course, seeing no activity today has little bearing on what I will find tomorrow, i.e., my work goes on and on.  Rather than become depressed at the never-ending-ness of what I do, I focus on minor accomplishments, things that actually can be attained... like a particularly effective glare that reversed a leep.

13 Apr 2025 - Who said "cleanliness is next to godliness"... besides me, that is? There is no need to mention the feline deity in my ancestry, and it would be hard to best a cat's hygenic habits.  "Looking good" is an expected compliment for all our time spent grooming and preening.  But the main reason we devote such effort to personal matters is that it promotes health and boosts general well-being.  How else can I tackle my daily responsibilities of keeping the domicile safe?

laboring away

Me-usings and Me-emories

12 Apr 2025 - Some mornings, particularly a chilly one, I am not in a rush to leave my warm spot.  It is rare when the shorter peep is stirring before me, but that is okay with moi... my self-worth is not tied to winning the daily race.  Besides I was up before Mr. Sol, making my preliminary rounds, before returning to bed... a detail she may or may not be aware of.  And I will be doing a final interloper check this evening, after she has retired.  Is it any wonder that naps are necessary?

loosen up

Shamus on view

Me-usings and Me-emories

11 Apr 2025 - Waiting for a peep doesn't have to be a test of patience.  Over the years I have figured out what to do with extra time, and some uses actually count as work.  After all, interlopers can potentially be anywhere, so wherever I find myself idling, there is a corner to watch, a portal to check.  And the no-brainer filler of spare minutes is to catnap.  Evidently the world thought that my kind excelled at carefree relaxing, enough to create a word in our honor.
