Me-usings and Me-emories
27 February 2019 - Nope, I am not resting my chin on my paw. It is just the angle of the picture, but it is how wrong impressions get formed. "Well, I saw.... " Actually one can't always trust these snap judgments. A quick glance, an overheard phrase, a perfumed whiff, and our overactive brain supplies a befitting context. Likewise that image to my left isn't of tree trunks, but a reflection of the clerestory windows I am facing. It just further underscores the illusion that is our experience. The Burmese cats call it "meowya", i.e., pretending to have a quality that is in fact not present. Rather like me claiming to have pockets... but I suppose that is a very purrdestrian example.
