Me-usings and Me-emories
15 September 2013 - Similes enrich our vocabulary. How else might one convey sure-footedness than to say "like a mountain goat"? My species naturally have a starring role in this figure of speech: "as nimble as a cat" or "as nervous as a cat" or "as graceful as a cat" or "as playful as a kitten" or "as weak as a kitten" or "as cute as a kitten". You get the point, which is the point of similes: to create an unusual, interesting, or emotional effect. While you're studying this lesson, I am going to focus on getting myself down from this height.
