8 Jul 2024 - I am not the only early-riser:  the local interlopers are particularly active first thing in the morning.  And once the shorter peep refills the feeder, activity ticks up.  Some of the trespassers keep their distance, content with what is scattered to the ground.  Even among the smallest, there is competition for territory, and their squabbles are quite entertaining to watch.  The beeps are matter-of-fact efficient ("I'm bigger than you") in their shooing away the competition, but the cheeky squeeps are quite laughably noisy and aggressive in their confrontations.
