6 Mar 2025 - The shorter peep didn't seem to notice, but my ears definitely heard something (an interloper?) skittering in this corner. I intently scanned for any give-away motion, but eventually had to admit that my surveillance wasn't going to be further rewarded. I will continue to monitor the situation, but I can't neglect the other parts of my patrol should this distraction be a ruse to weaken defenses elsewhere. You might think such strategizing is beyond ne'er-do-wells, but I know otherwise.
