Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

12 February 2016 - The sentry's life is a responsible one, as well as a lonely one.  Consider the guards outside Buckingham Palace or the soldiers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Both of these examples are very photogenic and largely symbolic, but the unsung sentinel faces darkness and boredom with the knowledge that his succumbing to drowsiness is a breach in the wall.  "Not on my watch" is my mantra, as I walk the perimeter and trace the rooms.  My sense of duty is going to kill me.
