4 July 2018 - "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night...", yes, some of us volunteer to live by that motto.  If one wisely chooses the location, one or more of those unfavorable conditions could be a rare phenomenon.  Obviously, for me, a place that endures snow is not my definition of home.  Here in the hinterland during the summer months, we have our share of rain and gloom, but not enough heat for my taste.  So walking my beat is not a problem when the mercury soars and the local peeps sweat.  Bring it on!
