civil servants

Shamus on view

Me-usings and Me-emories

8 November 2020 - We all suffer that occasional pause which prompts our friends (as well as detractors) to think, sometimes aloud, "come on, make up your mind!"  Of course there is power to be exploited when you have them waiting, and it is a beckon to the dark side.  I fully realize the allure and the danger of wearing a crown, and that is half of the battle.  But sometimes one does need to take the time to weigh the options, tally the choices, and gauge one's desires.  So you impatient sorts need a bit of time-out as well, and recognize that in different circumstances it could be yourself holding up the line.  Besides, since when is it acceptable to be rude?  Can we at least pretend to be civilized?
