17 Jun 2023 - Once those older neural pathways began to fire, I found my hinterland routine... such as joining the shorter peep on the bench for breakfast.  Naturally I enjoy eating my treats from this elevated position... it seems more befitting to someone who has deified ancestors.  And those head pats are more forthcoming when I am so conveniently near.  Once she has finished her morning meal, she takes the comb to my fur and then puts kibble in my bowl, and I realize the day is off to a good, if not sunny, start.
