3 Jun 2023 - According to the shorter peep, I was standing on this very ledge about a month ago, checking for interlopers... or in this case, checking for the scent of interlopers. And what do ne'er-do-wells smell like, you might be wondering? The short answer is "different": has there been an olfactory change since I last investigated? The implication of that statement is that that prior odor had to be filed away in my gray matter... and it was. That ability isn't really special. We cats, and I suppose any creature that depends on its nose, were born with it... thank you, Bastet.
