18 October 2013 - Maintaining good hygiene is very time-consuming.  You should try washing with your tongue if you don't believe me.  Of course I could cut corners and omit behind my ears, or wash on alternate days, but it isn't in my fastidious nature to do so.  In fact a messy coat is a sign of feline dementia...not that I have ever met a compatriot who didn't have all his faculties. Certainly I have known those with less than charming personalities but their coats were immaculate.
