1 October 2013 - Which would you rather be, family or guest?  Sometimes I spend time in the seldom-used upstairs bedroom.  Possession is very close to ownership, so there is precedent for my claiming this space as my own.  The privileges of guest are not shabby, peace and quiet being very high on that list.  But I am quite fond of my peeps, so I honestly prefer the messier arrangement of family.  My presence seems to keep them on a more even keel;  another way to phrase that is to say they need my calming influence.  And when I require  a bit of distance, I can always retreat to the guest quarters.
