12 November 2013 - Don't judge a book by its cover. What exactly am I getting at, you might wonder. The short answer is that, despite being a tuxedo cat, I do not see the world in black and white. That viewpoint is expected in our youth, but unless we are emotionally stunted worldly experiences quickly broaden the spectrum of possibilities. What a disappointment it would be to only know a gray palette, and those species that perceive in the ultraviolet (the birds and the bees) or infrared (bats and snakes) range of light have justification for feeling superior. How marvelous to discern a rainbow, for how else would you be led to that pot of gold?
