glorious and free

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

1 July 2014 - Today is the big Canadian fete, one of those instances where the northern neighbor gets the jump on the cocky folks to the south.  My peeps had an invitation to be in the local parade, but elected to remain here with me.  I am a bit nervous with those public displays of nationalism and overwrought by the accompanying hoopla...not that we totally escape the noise here at the lake.  What is the peep's fascination with fire and explosions?  It is no wonder that the world has enjoyed so few respites of peace.  I much prefer calmer experiences.  Give me a palette of blues and greens, and I will be happy.  And don't be regimented by holidays; celebrate the rising sun, a light breeze in the face, a tranquil moment, the smaller exclamations of life.
