Me-usings and Me-emories
28 February 2017 - It is so easy to buy into the us-them divide. Such a viewpoint encourages feelings of superiority, and thus validity, in our judgments: "I am better than he. I deserve more. I am the chosen tribe." But the truth behind this illusion is that we are more alike than different, that we reside in the same community, that we need similar things to exist. Without this realization, we can denigrate and exploit the other, blind to the fact that we are poisoning our own well, polluting our own air, blackening our own future. Life is already too short.
