Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

14 August 2017 - All this recent rain has brought the lake level up ten inches or so.  We certainly haven't received that much precipitation, but the Roseway River originates halfway across the province, a huge watershed.  In addition, unlike the sandy soil back home, the ground here doesn't absorb as quickly.  The result is a dock whose far end is submerged, and a narrow shoreline with grass tops poking up like a rice paddy.  If I am careful I can still make my way from rock to rock without wetting my paws.  This route is a favored one because with my stealthy approach I can glimpse turtles before they slide into the water.  I really don't want a close encounter with these snappers, but they are a curiosity.
