1 July - Even with constant exposure to pacifism we cats are hunters at heart. To attempt to remove that from our constitution is folly... and besides, its excision would render us unrecognizable, an entirely different species of animal. Pretending to be a predator doesn't strengthen our tendencies... they are hard-wired into our heads. But play is good for our physical being as well as our mental composure. The imagination benefits from exercise as much as muscles do. whether one is a toddler or adolescent or adult. So leave me, here in my safe room, to be king of the jungle.
