mourning after

Shamus on view

Me-usings and Me-emories

5 July 2020 - The barbarians did not breach our walls last night, although in the thick smoke of the assault the outcome was uncertain.  The shorter peep and I took our stand near the portcullis, while the taller peep walked the ramparts, should an aerial raid ensue.  By morning light I can see no evidence of that battle... but I will swear to Bastet that the turmoil was frighteningly real.  Victory was ours, and today we three will record the conflict in truthful paean, to be loudly sung to our descendants (should any be found).

When backed into a corner,
even the meekest will protest.

word of the day - cats in the belfry, said of a despurrate plan that appears purr-boiled in strong light
