Me-usings and Me-emories
9 April 2021 - I am not sure why today I am particularly struck with the discrepancy in the world. Perhaps it is my surfeit of comfortable good fortune that weighs guiltily upon me. We can certainly gloss over inequities, even to the extent of total unawareness, living in our bubble or gated community or wilderness compound. Circling the wagons when there is a threat, is a common reaction, a way to handle the resultant anxiety. And into that circle we gather those who will soothe our fears, rather than agitate further. But that like-minded huddle doesn't resemble the random masses, and thus begins the distortion and misinformation. Even so, emotionally I prefer my society of one.
