Me-usings and Me-emories
14 Jun 2022 - I am almost a study in black and white, were it not for a dab of pink for the nose, mouth, and insides of my ears. Evidently there is an entire nomenclature for describing the ratio of these two colors, with the name tuxedo applying to those where white is limited to the face, paws, throat, and chest. Mask-and-mantle, cape-and-saddle, Van-pattern, and magpie have been coined (of course, by peeps... we cats aren't into categorizing, except when useful, i.e., friend or foe) for other black-and-white patterns. We tuxedos fall under the larger grouping known as piebald, meaning white paired with some other color. Somehow "piebald" is a distasteful term.

Catty Corner
word of the day - appurrlation, how something is known or addressed (I am fond of "your highness")
Catty Corner
My grandmothers Scottish housekeeper referred to our cairn terrier (whom she loved) “his lordship”….and treated him accordingly….start laying hints for your peeps!
ReplyDelete"Highness" also suggests a cat's preference for being above it all.
