Me-usings and Me-emories
6 March 2014 - I am not sure what my job title is (and I can't recall ever seeing a pay check...I am trusting direct-deposit), but I faithfully report to work. My talents are many and, frankly, underutilized. But I do have a corner office brightened by natural light, perks that not every working stiff can truthfully claim. The world-wide web is an amazing way for us introverts to be part of a larger social circle, and the lucky (i.e., clever) ones manage to make a living by never leaving home. That is my idea of the perfect employment. Uncombed, perhaps unwashed (myself excluded), we plop into our desk chairs and figuratively clock-in. Both touch-typists and two-fingered wonders staccato their ideas made incarnate to the needy masses, and whether it is a fraction of a cent per sale or an hourly contractual arrangement, money amasses. Would we have believed this scenario fifty years ago? We are living in yesterday's science fiction, and cannot imagine what lies ahead.
