Me-usings and Me-emories
15 November 2018 - I have heard that bad things occur on the ides of a month, so I am being extra-vigilant today in my sentry duty. This morning the air is full of juicy smells, so my nose is quickly reaching saturation. When that occurs I will be forced to retire to a quiet corner... to allow my senses to equilibrate. Occupations that demand acute concentration are physically exhausting, which is why U.N. interpreters work in pairs and switch off every twenty minutes. One simply can not remain at peak performance without periodic rest. To push yourself beyond (to egotistically prove something) results in mistakes and, if your job is critical, cat-astrophe.
