1 Jul 2022 - I'm not sure which is worse: being taken on a road trip, or being left behind? Probably the latter is preferable, but it is still a lonely choice. I was in charge of the house for three days and two nights, and things were in shipshape form when finally I heard them at the front door. Some of my anxiety was not knowing how long they would be away: should I gobble down all the kibble or divide it into x little piles, where x is a stab in the dark (and even with my superior night vision, I was blindly guessing)? It helped that, under this cloud of uncertainty, my appetite was "just enough to keep a cat alive."
