Me-usings and Me-emories

25 Jul 2022 - An outside noise quickly gets my attention, the louder, the more perilous.  But sometimes I must drain off the adrenaline, a false alarm caused by a peep beyond our domicile walls.  I still feel an obligation to keep my charges safe, so I watch until he/she reenters the house.  What exactly I would do if danger threatened I'm not sure, since there is still screen and glass separating us.  The dilemma hasn't arisen, yet, but I'd like to think that I would alert the other peep (and then possibly retreat to an impregnable place).  If both of them are "out there", beyond my reach, then I really can't be expected to save the day.  However I can wag my tail and scowl that they should have stuck close to me.
