Me-usings and Me-emories
26 Jul 2022 - Upon examination I suspect we'd all discover that we each have a morning routine, a ritual by which we begin our day. When she remembers, the shorter peep brushes my fur after our breakfast meeting. That attention to my appearance often prompts me to continue the process, to wash my face, clean my everyday coat, trim my nails. Cats have an internalized sense of self, so these time-consuming efforts are done as necessary maintenance, not for any aesthetic goal. After all, we don't need to be pretty to feel pretty.
