Me-usings and Me-emories

7 Sep 2022 - My two peeps often exit our domicile through this portal.  Sometimes, from various surveillance spots, I can watch them, busy in our yard.  Other times they disappear from view, for varying amounts of time.  In these latter cases I try not to imagine abandonment, but keeping those thoughts from settling into my brain is difficult for a former stray.  So I use a familiar coping strategy:  I keep myself occupied, with work or the occasional nap.  And I remind myself that during our 2+ years of close friendship, my peeps have proven themselves very dependable (if sometimes forgetful).
