11 Sep 2023 - I like to think my reputation among the interlopers is the shadowy one, the dark form the eye catches just before it's too late to scurry into hiding.  Certainly it is the image a sentry wishes to cultivate, to instill a healthy fear of one's authority.  I realize, in the harsh light of Mr. Sol, I appear as the softie that I am... but during this hinterland stay we have mostly been covered by soggy clouds, so my secret isn't widely known.  I strut around my personal deck, cutting a sharp eye at trespassers and maintaining the line of demarcation.
