Me-usings and Me-emories
4 June 2014 - Occasionally I take a walk about the property to survey and catalog. From the damage to this stairway, I am relieved that we were in Florida for the winter. Evidently the lake level rose onto the bottom steps, froze and, when the ice started to break up, torqued the structure sufficiently to tear off the bottom step and crack three balusters. This is the second time that the bottom step has gone missing...perhaps Mother Nature is trying to tell us something. The neighbors enjoy ice-sailing on this lake. Just imagining it is sufficient to produce a chill. No thanks, but I'll respect this expanse of water from afar. Nessie could have a cousin that immigrated to Canada.
