Me-usings and Me-emories
7 Mar 2023 - We cats don't have the red-orange detecting cones, so our perceived world is colored in shades of blue-violet and yellow-green... not that any of these words make any sense to me, but according to peeps who study vision. Obviously having seen this way since I was born, I perceive "normally". But I find it interesting that top-of-the-food-chain peeps don't get to claim superiority here: their eyes, as a rule, don't handle ultraviolet light, a wavelength range that is perceptible to many fish, birds, reptiles, and insects. In fact nature shimmers in this larger spectrum, unbeknownst to many of its inhabitants.
Today's Catechism
(for the autodidcat)
Over time we all have
come to see what we need to see.

word of the day - purrmilion, the everyday orange tabby (not that we'd agree on his coat color)
