6 Nov 2023 - We don't share a cognate because we look alike, that is for certain!  The shorter peep informs me that this beep makes mewling noises... perhaps they sound like one of my kind to peep ears, but the noise would never arch my back.  And I extend no favored treatment to a "cat" beep, as it is still an interloper, assaulting our portal.  This one is more easily dissuaded from its pesky behavior than another beep that is a regular here, smaller and more crazed... but its challenged size may be the cause of its vexation.
