Me-usings and Me-emories
13 Nov 2023 - Curiosity is more than just a reaction to stimuli, more than being hungry and smelling food and seeking out the source. It is the need to perceive as the primary reason, and suggests an intelligence that is trying to understand its surroundings. The niggling "why?" has us expending energy to find an answer, to scratch a mental itch, to unravel cause and effect and coincidence (the thing we don't want to believe is possible). It is a reward unto itself... but occasionally it comes with a pat on the head.
