21 Mar 2024 - Well, now you know... and more to the point, so does the shorter peep.  Perhaps she was concerned that I was totally freaked out by the alien peeps in our domicile (and there was more than one), but she eventually found me (and snapped my picture)... quite happy to be left alone.  Eventually the noise abated, the footsteps ceased, and I emerged, very ready to visit my personal screened porch and reclaim a normal life.  The regular interlopers seemingly didn't notice that I went missing for a good chunk of the day:  I have trained them well!
