a bump in the fright

Shamus on view

Me-usings and Me-emories

28 Mar 2024 - I may look like I'm resting, but this hunkered pose features tensed muscles and alert ears, the body ready to respond.  The threat was quickly downgraded (it was just the approach of the taller peep), and I resumed my "at ease, purrivate".  And that really describes my day:  a series of "what was that?", followed by inquiry that might have me sniffing the ground or surveying the scene, then resolution (skedaddle or sit tight).  Wishing "it was nothing" isn't good enough:  two peeps and our domicile's safety rely on my vigilance.

word of the day - spectpurr, that which instills fear in a cat (and for good reason)
