3 August 2018 - Paws upon the ground is the way to do my job properly.  Of course I prefer to choose the hour when I walk my beat, opting for the driest conditions possible.  Lately that hasn't been difficult, as we have had more sunny days than not.  Notice in the picture how many rocks are now exposed along the lake's edge, the summer pattern in these parts.  I won't complain about the ease of skirting the shore now.  An assault craft would have to be dragged the last few yards, or its occupants wade to land, either option quickly picked up by my radar ears.  Let'em come.
