11 March 2019 - My guard duty is simpler if the watched are unaware that I'm watching. So doing surveillance from the screened porch has many things in its favor: besides offering concealment, it provides an elevated view of three flanks and protects me from bugs. The latter seems not worth mentioning, except a distracted sentry can't do an optimal job. And why should the desire for comfort be a negative anyway? I wear a hair shirt, but that is as far as it goes.
