1 Jan 2022 - Although my curiosity wants me to stay, the sensible part firmly states that there is no good reason to hang about gawking at a disaster.  Sure, you might really want to see the peeps' reaction, might even learn a thing or two about their world view.  But sympathies can be extended from afar, with distance hopefully providing buffer from the fallout.  Besides, without opposable thumbs, we cats aren't good at cleanup... our very best effort is to bury the offensive object in the sand, and there are few surfaces in our domicile that lend themselves to reshaping into a pile.  So my informed decision is to skedaddle.
