in pursuit

Shamus on view

Me-usings and Me-emories

6 Apr 2022 - The curtain is raised, I'm ready to trod the boards, the grand emcee ("master cat") commanding this one-ring circus.  No leaping through rings of fire for this feline, I prefer a more dignified and skillful acrobatics act.  But I can, for an appreciative audience, mesmerize with ancestral tales, stories of animal-abduction, peeps who chase with nets and snares.  Maybe a cunning prey can outmaneuver one such demented fellow, but when he hunts in a pack, the odds for escape are slim.  Nonetheless we run, often in a blind panic (as would you).  Just the recounting sends shivers down my body, and chills the listener who has had similar encounters.

Don't discount luck.

word of the day - impurril, to put at risk, to endanger (not something you wish to expurrience)
