Me-usings and Me-emories
8 Feb 2023 - Things don't go smoothly when we become conscious of walking: our nonchalant gait becomes awkward, we misgauge a stair step and trip ourselves up. So we tend to leave the coordination of movement to so-called muscle memory. Our limbs don't actually become independent appendages, but they do what has been tirelessly practiced and is now expected of them: efficiently get us from here to there. And now, when I'm trying to rest, I notice that errant hind leg: although I have glared at it, it wants to reach to the ceiling.
Today's Catechism
(for the autodidcat)
There is "as expected" and
then there is reality.
