regal theatrics

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

8 January 2019 - Yes, I suppose I am king of the "for rest".  The improvement in view is only a matter of inches, but the attitude enhancement is immeasurable.  My wide array of nap spots, with their inherent variety, just underscores my cat complexity.  We like to play our cards to the chest:  it adds to our mystery, and gives us a definite advantage in any game of wits.  "What is he thinking?  What is he up to now?"  I am certainly not telling... so go ahead and raise me.

radiant inner (gee, that would be great)

7 January 2019 - I thank Bastet for this long stretch of plentiful sunshine.  During this time of year the rays are quite oblique in the sky, and stretch well into the bedroom... making this spot on the carpet my new favorite nap space.  The only downside is that I periodically have to shift to the east as the sun makes its passage.  Sadly after a few hours this warm pool of light totally disappears, leaving me to search out the next hospitable spot.  Even so it is great while it lasts.  On the bright side, the mandatory movement keeps me from getting bedsores.

Me-usings and Me-emories

6 January 2019 - As you might imagine, I don't watch much television, mainly because I am so very not the demographic target.  But occasionally something on the screen is worth investigating, such as this documentary... I do wonder if the starring individuals, particularly the one on the left, are distant cousins (definitely distant, based on his wearing a pink collar).  I must remark that, while underscoring the importance of smell to us cats, the show's producer included nothing for the olfactory.  We are left to trust that these two are not animatronics.  Even so they should be awarded an Emmew IMO.

Me-usings and Me-emories

5 January 2019 - We cats aren't fond of change:  give us our routine every time, and we will purr in gratitude.  However, I discovered that a surprise presentation of my favorite food (yogurt) at an unusual spot was acceptable.  To show my thumbs-up (obviously symbolic), I lapped it right down and left behind only tongue prints.  Perhaps the shorter peep will make this largesse something I can count on... because, really and truly, I don't like the concept of surprises... it suggests a lack of preparation on my part.

Me-usings and Me-emories

4 January 2019 - I realize that Friday is a prime call-in-sick day, but with the New Year entering on a Tuesday, I really haven't compiled many work hours so far this week (nor, I admit, many for the month of December either).  So the shorter peep and I are clocking some time at the office... nothing that breaks a sweat, mostly paperwork closing out the fourth quarter and 2018 and preparing the way for January.  As office manager, I am mainly responsible for encouraging and rewarding... my peeps respond well to carrots (and I certainly don't want them).

Me-usings and Me-emories

3 January 2019 - My peeps seem to think our current balmy weather is unusual, while I think that it is perfect.  Even the fact that we still gaze upon a green expanse is odd to many of you.  But here we are, well into the season known even in Florida as winter, and I am not shivering.  In fact I am considering the wisdom of shedding some excess fur, but the cautious (and dominant) side of me says, "better to wait".  Needless to say I would be delighted if autumn transitioned straight into spring.

begin the again

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

1 January 2019 - I should be exhausted this morning:  loud booms that started at sunset and continued for hours, plus a houseful of chattering peeps (that likewise assaulted my senses and kept me penned in the bedroom).  After a thorough search of the house this morning I have ascertained that they are now gone, although our domicile still bears signs of their presence.  I would like to hope that today is the beginning of a different sort of year, but the realistic part of me (and we cats do have four feet upon the ground) says "nah".  Go ahead and prove me wrong.
