do not perturb

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

16 November 2014 - Against this limited palette my silhouette is nicely accented...a flattering outline if I must make a comment.  With a handful of black pixels I have communicated patience and serenity and a trace of world-weariness.  Perhaps the fact that I possess these qualities is in large part because I must live with peeps...who can test the likes of Job with their slow-to-the-destination movements and scattered-to-the-wind thoughts.  It would be painful to watch them were it not for my tough hide of forbearance.  Sometimes my sighs are mistaken for purrs.

quality can't be rushed

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

15 November 2014 - You may very well think that I can sleep anywhere, but of course there are countless spots, too noisy, too congested, too dangerous, that would never allow me to relax.  However I will agree that there are many places suitable for a nap.  Atop a keyboard might strike you as a bit eccentric, but the keys depress beneath my weight, somewhat like a very firm box spring mattress.  Besides, the shorter peep is just beyond the picture frame, and I need to keep one eye on her...without my guiding influence she can get into all sorts of trouble.

waste for me

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

14 November 2014 - Here is an intriguing composition, another picture of interesting lines.  I especially like my crossed paws...they make me seem refined, even dainty.  Although we cats are known for our grace, certainly not every photograph of me gives that impression.   I am definitely relaxed in this shot which, given the large number of captures where I am snoozing, should surprise no one.  I would say that, at the end of the day, life is good.

pain in the neck

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

13 November 2014 - Why does a cat surrounded by books seem such a natural pairing?  The shorter peep often sits here to read, and consequently I hang out here as well.  Normally I am curled in the available lap, so for me to perch on the chair back, as pictured, means that I want something...because from this vantage point I can annoy my peep, biting her hair, patting her shoulder, until she puts down the book to do my bidding.  The two of us manage to communicate quite well without words.

lap it up

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

11 November 2014 - Paws down, this lap is my favorite spot to curl up.  Those peeps with heated seats in their cars know how wonderful it is, when the temperatures are below tolerable, to have warmth seeping up from below.  My version has no on/off switch, no adjustable thermostat, but on the plus side I don't experience motion sickness or anxiety about the unknown destination.  The closest I come to running in circles is when I make a few tight turns to position myself optimally upon this lap.  When I was half my current size, it was a better fit...but for nostalgic reasons I keep returning.

upon a pedestal

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

10 November 2014 - I'm in there, trust me, although if it weren't for that white background, I would be hard to detect.  This very spot was recently the subject of a blog, and since that time I have revisited it, as the whim struck me.  But this particular time I was in search of a comfortable observation post.  The shorter peep spends a great deal of time in the kitchen, and from here I can watch her comings and goings without being underfoot.  It isn't often that she and I share the same eye level, so I have yet another reason to hang out, watchful but unnoticed.

seeing red

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

9 November 2014 - My Russian cousins may be better at telekinesis than I, but I don't lack in determination.  However that degree of mental concentration requires copious energy, so some days any attempt is out of the question.  As the book spine states, "learning processing" is what it is about, and such mind-over-matter feats require time and training.  That red pen and I are locked in a battle of wills, and I will prevail.  The peeps will never believe that I actually moved it with my thoughts, will be convinced that I helped it along with one paw, but I do not need them to acknowledge my success.  I will bear sole witness, and revel in my victory.
