Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

15 February 2019 - A casual glance at the photograph to the right might lead you to think that I am admiring the flowers.  Actually I am keeping my eye on a beep, that is a regular visitor to our dining room window.  He throws himself against the glass with such ferocity that, were he not such a small fry, I might worry about a breach.  After considerable time observing his assault, I have concluded that the only harm he is doing is to himself.  I will admit that his antics do provide early morning amusement and breakfast conversation.

get the meowmo?

Me-ow-my-oh!

Me-usings and Me-emories

14 February 2019 - Obviously I am not the one who types these daily posts... no opposable thumb (although the taller peep can bang out a message using just two fingers per hand, I am not he).  The shorter peep is my amanuensis... perhaps it should be spelled "ameownuensis"?  We have known one another for more than fourteen years, and are usually on the same wavelength... quite a feat across species.  So who better to record my thoughts?  I get somewhat agitated by her constantly pointing that silver cube at me, but I suppose it is all for a good cause:  me.

Me-usings and Me-emories

13 February 2019 - Yesterday's weather had me thinking that summer is just around the corner... only to wake to today's retraction.  I suppose I'll just have to bask in the memory of my porch sauna, and petition Bastet for more June-in-February temperatures.  Unlike my peeps, who can pull off/pull on clothes, dependent upon the need, I have my fur (and very little body fat) to keep me warm... and the recent thermometer up-tick has triggered my spring shed.  If the shorter peep turned my lost hair into yarn, rather than linty refuse, she could crochet a vest for me that I might actually wear, very theoretically speaking.  I suppose there is no satisfactory response to this time of year's indecisiveness... except to persevere and, of course, grouse.

Me-usings and Me-emories

12 February 2019 - Although the taller peep invariably arrives late to the office, he stays late... so the balance sheet remains tidy.  And invariably he comes up the stairs with yellow coffee mug in hand.  His beverage of choice is a lighter color than the shorter peep's drink, so naturally I had to investigate (as well as greet my worker).  My nose picks up dairy, a good thing, but in too scant an amount for me to be tempted.  You may be unaware that maintaining happy employees is a calorie-intensive endeavor.  Fortunately I enjoy several helpings of yummy yogurt before clocking in, so I don't have to depend upon unappetizing offerings to fuel my strength.

11 February 2019 - What am I doing?  Good question as I'm not entirely sure.  The shorter peep caught me in a rare "crazy" frame of mind, as I raced around the yard and ran up the tree (the one just right of center).  I'm sure that she was trying to get a more incriminating photo, but I am most intrigued by the hook in my tail.  No animal was harmed in the filming of, and I returned to my senses rather quickly.  Sometimes one needs to disengage the governor and blow out the carburetor... especially important in the older models.

Me-usings and Me-emories

10 February 2019 - I'll cut my peeps a little slack, it is after all Sunday morning, but what is an office manager to think when he beats his workers to work??  Perhaps my ship command isn't tight enough, but the soft approach is really my style... as long as it works.  The shorter peep arrived about five minutes after me, with coffee cup, so I now at least have someone to oversee.  While she stares intently at her monitor, I can finish my morning grooming, perhaps even indulge in a bit of shut-eye while digesting my breakfast.  It is after all Sunday morning.

9 February 2019 - Yeah, yeah, I'm not on the designated towel.  But clearly you can see the allure of lying in a warm pool of sunlight.  The older I get, the more I appreciate heat.  There is nothing better than "bake my bones" temperatures, but just call me a Florida cat.  Although I have ancestors in both places, give me the African savannah over the Himalayas.  And here's another observation:  unless you want to court heat exhaustion, on these summer-like days sip cool water and minimize your physical activity (you have my purrmission).
