2 March 2015 - Chaos is inevitable, so should I really be held responsible for hastening its arrival?  Besides a fondness for symmetry needs to be stretched beyond its narrow confines.  Granted, my attempt at cantilevering the books was unsuccessful, but that is largely due to having the wrong materials for the task.  It can be done, as evidenced by unsupported spiral staircases.  Science advances through its failures:  now I will plan my next attempt.
