Me-usings and Me-emories
3 March 2015 - I don't normally see similarities between me and beeps, but this photo reminds me of a loon. Yes, the eerie-voiced loon. Were you aware that the legs of a loon are positioned so far back on its body that it can't walk? Obviously it was designed for water aerobics, but on land it must push its body over the terrain. For such an elegant beep that is unflattering and most awkward...no wonder it chooses to nest along the shore, preferably on an island where no one can observe it. During the summer I often spot one of these beeps gliding around our Nova Scotian lake. Am I tempted to join it? Surely you jest.
