30 March 2015 - Besides flowers, spring brings the flippin' beeps. The shorter peep enjoys their arrival, and puts out seeds for them to eat. Her enthusiasm doesn't extend to the squeeps that show up for a handout...but that is the price of admission to the buffet. Every year one of the beeps decides to defend the dining room window, and its crazed behavior disturbs my equilibrium and offends my sense of justice. I realize that there is a thick sheet of glass between me and it, but my emotions get the better of me...and I point out that the dining room window is rightfully mine. There is no reasoning with these fly-by-nights, but I will outlast it.
