27 July 2015 - A cat stretched out on a hearth is a familiar image.  I prefer a slightly higher perch, so this makeshift coffee table, just feet from the wood stove, is perfect for enjoying the fire's heat.  We haven't needed to supplement the residual warmth since late in June, so I come here less frequently now.  But my peeps often gather around in the evening, with their books or a game board...which is reason enough for me to hang out as well.  Few words need to be exchanged (we are a bunch of introverts after all), but the camaraderie is enjoyed.  Isn't that the definition of family?
