Me-usings and Me-emories
21 April 2016 - In case you have ever wondered, we cats do dream…which is why sometimes our whiskers twitch and paws flex. Just recently I was relaxing into a bit of reverie, that took a scary turn…and I quickly abandoned the story line: I was guarding the beep feeder, insuring that the squeeps didn't steal the seeds. The sunlight was almost white, the air was warm…you can understand why this dream had such promise. But then silence descended - the back-and-forth of beep calls ceased, and an ominous dread entered my body. As you know, my hearing is quite good, so perceiving no sound is unnerving. I had the impression of stealth in the bushes, out of sight but getting closer…a large presence that was watching, interested, dangerous. I did not want to see how that concluded, so I willed myself awake. Thankfully the curious part of me lost the vote.
